Alasdair Grant is Research Associate in the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group 'Social Contexts of Rebellion in the Early Islamic Period', Asien-Afrika-Institut, Universität Hamburg. His publications include articles in the journals The English Historical Review, Traditio and Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies as well as a chapter in Brill's The Medieval Mediterranean series.
