Anil is the pseudonym of Chas. Melton, a retired biologist. Raised in Henderson, Kentucky, he was his high school valedictorian and senior class president. Further educated at Wake Forest (BS) and Johns Hopkins (Ph. D. ), he held a two-year post-doc at University of Illinois, spent seven years at University of Pittsburgh (Biology), and three years as a Research Fellow in Biochemistry at University of Western Australia in Perth, where he has resided since. He was a sannyasin of Indian guru Rajneesh, who gave him the name (Swami Deva) Anil.
