Dr. Danny R. Hermanus, DIT, Ph. D. , is a senior network and security engineer with more than thirty years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and improving enterprise IT systems. He holds a Doctor of Information Technology from Walden University, a Ph. D. in Biblical Studies from Master's International University of Divinity, a master's degree in network architecture from Capella University, and a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Over the years he has led major projects across many industries-including television and church broadcasting, mining, start-ups, healthcare, streaming, IPTV, gaming companies, wireless ISPs, government contractors, and manufacturing. His background covers both older systems such as IBM AS/400 and Novell NetWare, as well as modern platforms including Windows Servers, Linux, Unix, big data environments, and data lakehouse architectures. Through this wide experience, he has seen-and helped shape-the shift from purely reactive security approaches to more proactive and strategic ones. In recent years, Dr. Hermanus has developed a strong interest in writing technical books on cybersecurity, quantum computing, and AI data centers. He also feels a quiet calling to help readers return to the core truths of Scripture through spiritual books such as Restoring the Flame. With a practical and humble approach, he aims to connect real-world experience with clear teaching-hoping to equip the next generation of cybersecurity professionals while offering encouragement to others in their walk of faith. He lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife, Rima. Family remains his highest priority, and he treasures time with his three children-Kezia (married to Adriel), Gerrit (married to Abigail), and Samuel (married to Thezia)-along with his three grandchildren: Zane, Melody, and Seth. Outside of work, he stays active with badminton, pickleball, online chess, and guitar, and he is learning to draw. On weekends he serves at City Blessing Church of Walnut as a preacher and teacher, co-director of the healing ministry, and care cell leader, supporting the spiritual life of the community.
