Hailing from the quiet, mist-belt landscape of Gqumeni in KwaZulu-Natal, Awande has always found strength in the stories of his home. Now twenty-one and a first-year student at the Central University of Technology, he believes that stories can save lives when someone is brave enough to tell them and someone is brave enough to write them down without changing the truth. This book is testament to the power of self-discovery in this dirty world. Awande writes to protect not to judge. He believes men must be a safe space for women and children.
