Beverley Gilmour is a mother, author, and survivor whose life has been shaped by faith, love, trauma, and an unwavering determination to understand the human spirit. Born in Birkenhead on the Wirral in 1965, Beverley moved to Lancashire in her late teens and eventually settled on the Fylde Coast, where she still lives today. As a young girl, Beverley discovered a personal relationship with Jesus within the sanctuary of an empty church. That experience would become the foundation upon which much of her life was built and would continue to influence her understanding of love, forgiveness, and hope throughout the decades that followed. Between 1987 and 1992, Beverley began experiencing what she describes as chronic Actual Death Experiences (ADEs), encounters that would become central to her understanding of faith, consciousness, and the human spirit. Following the traumatic brain injury in 1992, these experiences took on a new significance within her recovery journey and became intertwined with the long process of healing, reflection, and self-discovery. Her case attracted medical attention and, to the best of her knowledge, remains unique due to the chronic nature of the ADEs, the involvement of medical professionals. What followed was a long and often difficult journey through trauma, altered states of consciousness. During this period, Beverley kept detailed journals and spiritual writings that would later form the foundation of this book. Throughout those years, one constant remained: her love for her children, Their unwavering support, together with her enduring faith, became the anchor that helped guide her through some of the darkest periods of her life. A lifelong writer, Beverley achieved early success when she secured a publishing contract for a series of children's books. Today, Beverley continues to write, advocate for greater understanding of mental health, trauma, and human consciousness, and support charitable and community projects. She hopes that by sharing her story, others may find comfort, understanding, and the courage to continue their own journey towards healing. Above all else, Beverley considers her greatest achievement not the books she has written, but being a mother to her children, whose love helped save her life.
