BRIAN J. DICKSON worked in the publishing and printing industries for over 35 years before retiring in 2000. He is now an active volunteer locomotive fireman and driver at a heritage railway. He has written a number of railway books and lives in Buckinghamshire. ANDREW FORSYTH was a lifelong railway enthusiast particularly of the London and North Eastern Railway. His railway photography started in 1947 and his catalogue of photographs show visits to Scotland nearly every year from 1948 until 1966. In his spare time Andrew was one of the organisers of the Seafield Railway Club which arranged visits to sheds and railway sites throughout eastern England and Scotland.
