As an avid family historian, I have extensively researched the branches of my own family tree. Not knowing our distant ancestors personally yet discovering snippets of information about their lives in records, newspapers and dusty archives, has inspired my fictional writing. I live in Nottinghamshire with my husband, Richard, and we are the founding members of The Field Detectives, a group of history enthusiasts dedicated to investigating local landscapes and historical events. I love nothing more than delving into the past to uncover the truth about long-forgotten people and events and sharing that learning through my non-fiction writing. Under the name Emmaline Severn, I also write historical fiction and non-fiction books.
