Catherine Venable Moore. is a nonfiction writer, editor, and public historian from West Virginia. Her writing has been published in Best American Essays. , Oxford American. , and VICE. , and earned recognition from MacDowell, Millay Colony, The Studios at Mass MoCA, the West Virginia Humanities Council, and the Waymakers Collective. She is an editor-at-large for West Virginia University Press and lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia, with her family. She is the co-founder of the West Virginia Mine Wars Museum. She received a Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant and a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars Grant.
