D. A. Bennett began his writing journey at the University of Nebraska, focusing on poetry and short stories. He later earned a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Texas A&M. Growing up in a military family, Bennett moved 23 times in 26 years, living in places from Newfoundland to Riverside, California, and finally settling in San Antonio, Texas. In 1988, he transitioned to Florida as a real estate developer and builder, retiring in 2008. After selling his business in Blue Hill, Maine, he dedicated himself to writing, capturing his travels and experiences in his works, including a novella and three short stories.
