Autor/-in: Dana R DeVito
Dana is a partner at Elite Performance Associates and also continues to own and operate a pair of Scooter's Coffee franchises. (He knows the value of having skin in the game. ) As a leadership consultant and business coach, Dana works primarily with owner-operators, small business leaders, and entrepreneurs who are building something real and need a trusted advisor in the room who has actually run one. His specialty is turning high-potential organizations into high-performance ones by fixing the people problems that quietly drain profit, culture, and momentum. The frameworks inside this book weren't built in a classroom. They were built inside real businesses, through real hiring mistakes, difficult conversations, and the hard-won clarity that comes from watching both amazing teams and quiet dysfunctional ones operate up close. Dana's own entrepreneurial journey, including a few failed businesses in his misspent youth that taught him what bad systems and plans look like and a franchise that taught him what a good one does, gave him a boots-on-the-ground understanding of what actually determines whether a business grows or struggles. The answer, almost every time, is people. He lives in Prescott, Arizona, with his beautiful wife Anna and his 1 1/2 dogs (an amazing American Bully named Stella and an ancient "going-to-outlive-us-all" Lhasa Apso named Shadow). Recently entering into a new phase of empty nesting (their two kids are both out of state and in college), he's tried to fill his time with all sorts of goofy hobbies including mountain biking, coaching high school track and field, playing pickleball, and even attempting to learn how to perform card magic. All of which he's pretty lousy at but still enjoys.
