Autor/-in: Desmond Deignan
Desmond Deignan grew up in County Carlow and has spent the better part of three decades reading in the intersecting territories of criminal history, forensic science, and the law. A long-standing interest in the mid-twentieth-century British criminal courts drew him to the Haigh case, which he regards as one of the most forensically and jurisprudentially significant trials in English legal history - a case that changed, in precise and documentable ways, how murder is investigated and prosecuted in the absence of a physical body. He lives in the west of Ireland and has written widely on British and Irish true crime history. After the Acid is his most comprehensive work to date.
