Durante Alexander originates from the small city of Gorinchem, located in the Netherlands, where he observed many different people who would ultimately inspire the characters of 'La folie. ' Apart from being a writer, he is also a passionate musician who avidly plays the bass guitar. Durante has always had a keen interest in writing. Ever since he could write, he has written numerous lost whimsical stories as a child, but La folie is his first complete work, carrying many of his philosophies, worldviews and ideas - all told from the perspective of the fictional 'Tino,' a man with Tourette's syndrome. What Durante wants most is for people to actually listen to each other, hoping to positively influence them through his works, for he believes that every person has a unique 'grand philosophy,' but to form this personal philosophy, people must listen to others' thoughts, or influence tends to become manipulation: "a rather thin line," as Durante says.
