Emily Lessard is the founder of The Plant Native, a platform making native plants easy and exciting for beginners. Certified in sustainable landscapes and currently earning a Native Plant Landscaping certificate from Temple University, she blends ecological expertise with a background in creative strategy—she is also the chief strategy officer of Bellweather, a brand-strategy agency. Lessard blends deep ecological values with creative expertise. Frustrated by the gatekeeping and overly academic tone that defines much of the gardening and native plant space, she launched The Plant Native in 2021 to change the narrative. Her vision is simple but urgent: if we can make Marvel heroes household names, we can do the same for milkweed and monarchs.
