Goutam Brahmachari is a full professor of organic chemistry at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, West Bengal, India. His research focuses on developing green chemistry-inspired synthetic methods for carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond formation in medicinally important heterocyclic scaffolds using C-H functionalization, cascade, and cross-coupling approaches. He has about 28 years of experience in teaching and research and has authored over 300 scientific publications, including 28 books from leading scientific publishers. He has also made significant contributions to the field of natural product chemistry by uncovering the chemical profiles of Indian medicinal plants and presenting novel phytochemicals.
