Ivy Smith lives on a smallholding in the heart of the Kent countryside, where for many years she has owned and bred horses and ponies. Her love of horses is paramount, but she is also a keen gardener, cook, genealogist and photographer - with a passion for music, the countryside and all things historical. She loves putting pen to paper, keeps a daily diary and also writes articles and poems. Her first children's book, The Adventures of Freddie the Foal - Freddie The Foal's Big Day Out, was published in 2025.
