Autor/-in: Jacob Bowery

Jacob Bowery grew up between County Leitrim and the west of Ireland, where disputes about land, taxation, and distant authority were never quite settled history. He has spent two decades writing about the political and economic conflicts of the early American republic, drawn to the moments when ordinary people and constitutional principles collide in ways that determine what kind of country a republic is going to be. His particular interest lies in fiscal history - in the specific, human consequences of how governments choose to raise money and from whom. Fire and Grain. is the result of years of research into the Whiskey Rebellion's legal, economic, and political dimensions. He currently divides his time between Dublin and the United States.
