Living in West Yorkshire in the hills above Hebden Bridge, I would describe myself as 'creature crazy, ' adoring everything from the tiniest ant to the largest whale, though cats will always hold a special place in my heart. A first-time author, I had never written anything significant before, but I felt driven to share the story of my cat, Gerry who was rescued from an oil rig in Kazakhstan. This was such a unique tale involving people who simply put the needs of an animal first. No-one really knows how Gerry got in such a chaotic situation but I wanted to create a story of what might have happened and share his daring and remarkable tale.
