James Machell is a British writer, editor, and contributor to The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction where he also curates its Substack. He serves as Outreach Manager for Utopia Science Fiction Magazine and was the 2025 Contest Chair for The Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association. Human Voices, Alien Conversations, his collection of interviews with Ken Liu, Samuel R. Delany, and others, is available from Space Cowboy Books.
