Jessica Britagna is the founder of Light The Way, Inc. and the creator of Bay, the Connecticut Water Safety Dog. After the tragic loss of her son Ryan in a boating accident, Jessica turned her grief into action-dedicating her life to protecting others through water safety education and community outreach. Together, Jessica and Bay visit schools, marinas, and community events across Connecticut, teaching children and families that life jackets save lives. Through Bay's story, Jessica hopes to empower kids to make safe choices on and around the water-so no family has to endure the same pain her family has, and every day on the water ends with smiles, safety, and a safe return home.
