Autor/-in: Johann Baumgärtner

Professor Johann Baumgärtner was born in 1948 at Chur, Switzerland, where he attended public schools before studying agronomy and earning a doctoral degree in technical sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. After postdoctoral training at the University of California at Berkeley, he worked first at ETH and the Bureau of Agriculture of the Swiss Canton of Grisons thereafter. Subsequently, he served as Department Head at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) in Nairobi, Kenya, and concluded his career as full Professor at the University of Milan, Italy.
