John Carman is Senior Lecturer in Heritage Value, Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity, Birmingham University, co-Director of the Bloody Meadows Project, and convenor of ESTOC: European Studies of Terrains of Conflict. He is the author of Against Cultural Property: Archaeology, Heritage and Ownership in this series. John Carman is based in the Department of Archaeology at the University of Cambridge where he lectures on heritage. He is the author of a number of texts including Valuing Ancient Things: Archaeology and Law (1996, Leicester University Press).
