Before publishing her first novel at age 69, she spent a career in philanthropy, education, and nonprofit leadership-work that took her to five continents, despite being directionally challenged. Today, she hosts a weekly author podcast, volunteers feeding the unhoused, serves as an Elder in her church, and continues writing stories about justice, resilience, and second chances. A native New Yorker now in Florida, Karen is a wife, mother, and proud grandmother of three.
