Colonel Karen "Gigi" Wrancher, U. S. Army (Retired), served thirty-one years on active duty, with commands and leadership positions spanning Platoon Leader positions with the 82nd Airborne Division, a Company Command in the 1st Infantry Division in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and Kosovo, the first battalion commander the 1st Armored Division Headquarters at Fort Bliss, the first female Chief of the U. S. Army Quartermaster General, senior positions at the Pentagon and in combat and contingency operations overseas, including service as the Operations Officer for the Central Command region for the Defense Logistics Agency's Disposition Services, the first Chief Inspector General for Operation Inherent Resolve and the Division Chief of the Assistance Division, the largest division in the U. S. Army Inspector General Agency at the Pentagon. Across three decades of service, she built a reputation for radical integrity, candor, operational rigor, and a research-driven approach to leadership that followed her from a wet containerized housing unit (CHU) in Kuwait to a home she chose with the same discipline in El Paso, Texas; Alexandria, Virginia, and ultimately Charlotte, North Carolina. She has led digital transformation efforts that streamlined thousands of critical actions, mentored soldiers at every rank, and built a family legacy of resilience that now extends to her son, Xavier, and her grandchildren, Jonathan and Anastasia. She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with the love and support of her family, and continues to mentor transitioning service members from private to colonel, believing firmly that the discipline, integrity, and leadership this country asked of them for years does not retire. It simply finds the mission after. each person's vision of their purposeful next chapter in their life's journey.
