She has translated over a dozen novels, including The Most Secret Memory of Men. by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, which was longlisted for the 2023 National Book Award for Translated Literature. Vergnaud was born in Tunisia, grew up in the United States, and currently lives in southern France.
