She's also written three short-story collections: Postcards from the Gerund State. , Soy la Avon Lady. , and Homicide Survivors' Picnic and Other Stories. , a finalist for the PEN/Faulker Prize and winner of the Writers League of Texas Book Award. Retired from academia, López currently resides in Western North Carolina.
