Marc Vance spent forty-three seasons commercial salmon fishing in Bristol Bay, Alaska, alongside his identical twin brother, Malcolm. What began as summer cannery work became a lifetime on the water in one of the most volatile fisheries in the world. He also worked the crabbing grounds of the Bering Sea, where the salt settled into his veins. Cementing the pull of money, camaraderie, and adrenaline that drew him back season after season to be a commercial fisherman. Away from the tides, he built careers in big mountain skiing in Alaska and as a film Assistant Director, managing crews and pressure with the discipline learned at sea. Growing up in Lake Tahoe, Kauai, Utah and Alaska. He now lives in Utah, where he has traded the sea's dangers for steadier ground.
