Born in the United States, May has been living most of her life in Switzerland. After 10 years spent studying at university, she taught English in Geneva. She likes to be outdoors and lived two years in Finland. She draws and paints, decorates furniture, works in the kitchen garden, and is a jam maker. Quite a few times a year she travels, often hiking over rough terrain.
