Megan Potter is a high school teacher of mathematics, who lives with her husband and two children. She began reading to her children at an early age, and enjoyed the personal connection it created. She believes in the power of stories to deliver adventure, give us hope and educate us with different perspectives. As an educator, she enjoys teaching students critical thinking skills, a growth mindset, and communicates the importance of a well-rounded education opening doors throughout life. Through drive, ambition and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone, everyone can succeed. Eva and Brooklyn believe was drafted when Megan Potter's grandfather had passed away. Her children aged 2 and 4 had a close relationship with him. She found it challenging finding the right words as a parent to help her children navigate the big feelings of grieving. Her father-in-law was in and out of the hospital at the time, and she kept thinking to herself "how do I explain this again. " Eva and Brooklyn was finished the day her father-in -law passed away. Her manuscript transformed from story to healing companion. It provided her family with opportunities for conversation about fun memories, and eased fears and anxiety of loss. Her goal is to help caregivers embrace moments of healing when loss feels heavy.
