Melanie J Cotte was born in Essex. She fell in love with writing and poetry from a young age. She lives in a small village close to the town of Bishop s Stortford in Hertfordshire. Melanie worked in the airline industry from 1986 to 1997, then realised a dream in becoming a police officer. In 2000 Melanie was accepted into the Police Dog section, being the only female in the department at that time. Her police dog Billy was the inspiration behind her character. Bobby.
