Michela Denning is a non-binary author writing across horror, science fiction, self-help, and spiritual nonfiction. They served eight years in Air Force Security Forces and twelve more as a dispatcher for the Salt Lake County Jail before medical retirement turned them toward fiction full-time. Writing now as The Velvet Writer. , after years spent honing the craft under other names, Michela draws on influences ranging from Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Lovecraft to Fernando Pessoa and Trent Reznor - moving as comfortably through cosmic dread as through quiet reflection.
