Poet/author/educator/editor Nancy Avery Dafoe has 15 published books, with the most recent including poetry collections When Mine Canaries Stop Singing and Got Some River in Us, Mosaic of the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta (FLP, February 2026); novels Yet in the Land of the Living and Socrates is Dead Again; and memoirs Unstuck in Time and An Iceberg in Paradise, A Passage Through Alzheimer's. The author has won national awards for her poetry and prose and writes a Substack blog.
