Nick Beckett. is the pen name of Niall Boyce. Niall has worked as a psychiatrist, medical journal editor, and research funder, and has a PhD in English Renaissance literature and culture. The Book of Martyrs. is his first crime novel, and was largely written on the train between his home in Hertfordshire and his work in London.
