Phil Mclean grew up in the industrial north east of England. He grew up in an extended family of love, independent thinking, school boy dreams and distant or bureaucracy and pollution.
He originally planned to study commercial art. Yet inspired by his uncle, he changed career objectives to food and hospitality.
Self-determination and the dream of greater opportunity saw the travel to Australia in 1969. He has had a successful career in retailing, holding various senior appointments with major brands.
Now retired, he lives on the north coast of NSW with Katie.
