Author Dave Jones, PsyD is a retired teacher who has been described as the consummate educator, working with both regular and special education kids and their families for over four decades. He has degrees from schools across the nation, with advanced study (MS) in special education and a Doctorate in Psychology. His innovative and multifaceted teaching style has earned him recognition through the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching (Chicago-based, nationally recognized G. A. Academy), numerous awards through the American Heart Association (including top leadership and lifetime achievement awards), as well as developing the "best school garden in Chicagoland" (Chicago Botanic Garden Award/Newsweek magazine recognition). He has previously published 10 Demandments of Creativity: Parents Edition (with Prof. Denis Berkson) and helped develop Illinois State recognized standards for adapted physical education. He has ideas for one or more future books, as long as they don't get in the way of his canoeing, fishing, wood turning, motorcycle riding, racquetball playing, gardening or playing with his grandkids.
