Renate Hansen-Kokoruš is a retired professor of Slavic literatures and cultures (until 2019) at the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Graz (Austria), following positions in Mannheim, Berlin, Waterloo (Can.), Zadar, Frankfurt/M. and Innsbruck. She is co-editor of the journal Anzeiger für Slavische Philologie and editor of the book series Grazer Studien zur Slawistik (Kovač). Her research topics encompass satire and humor, the chronotope of return in South Slavic literatures, identity in literature and film, space, gender and intertextuality.
