Rowan McCabe. was raised by a punk and a hippy on a Tyneside council estate. Showing an early passion for poetry, he went on to study English Literature at Newcastle University. He is the creator of North East Rising. , a performance poetry show exploring his love-hate relationship with his hometown, and co-devised and starred in a short film for Channel 4's Random Acts. Rowan has toured the UK with two stage shows inspired by his unique door-to-door poetry project, and his work will be the focus of a BBC Radio 4 program airing in October 2025.
