RUTH ILLINGWORTH is the author of Mullingar: A History & Guide, The Little Book of Westmeath and Images of Mullingar (all The History Press). She is President of the Westmeath Historical and Archaeological Society and a member of the Women's Historical Association of Ireland (WHAI). She also works as a Tour Guide in Westmeath.
