Sharma Shields. is the author of the novels The Cassandra. and The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac. , as well as the short story collection Favorite Monster. Her work has appeared in The New York Times. , The Kenyon Review. , The Iowa Review. , Electric Literature. , and elsewhere. She is the recipient of an Artist Trust Fellowship, the Pacific Northwest Book Award, the Washington State Book Award, and the Autumn House Fiction Prize. Shields has worked in independent bookstores and public libraries throughout Washington state and is the writing education specialist for Spokane Public Library. Shields is the recent recipient of a Humanities Washington Changemaker Award for her library service and contributions to the Inland Northwest literary community.
