Silvia Gaete Lagos grew up in the deserts of Antofagasta, Chile, dreaming of the world beyond home. At sixteen, she left for the UK, later moving to Costa Rica, where a scholarship brought her to the United States to study Economics and Political Science. Her travels-across ten countries on Semester at Sea, as well as Japan, Nagasaki, and Europe-shaped her vision of life, people, and place. Wander: Whispers of the World, her debut collection, is a reflection of these journeys: a mosaic of memory, emotion, and the quiet discoveries that come from wandering both outward and within.
