Skylar Detten was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, where she developed a love for storytelling and the Western way of life. She now calls Lake City, Florida, home, where she continues to write stories inspired by strong characters, family, resilience, and the places that have shaped her journey. Growing up surrounded by rodeo culture and the spirit of the American West has inspired many of the characters and settings found in her novels. When she's away from her keyboard, Skylar enjoys baking, creating artwork, reading, and spending time with her husband, son, and their dogs.
