Stephen D. Cox is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, holding both Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees. He dedicated thirty-six years of his professional career to the Tennessee State Museum, retiring in 2011 as senior curator and director of exhibits. In addition to his extensive museum work, Mr. Cox authored Civil War Flags of Tennessee, published in 2020 by The University of Tennessee Press. His expertise in historical artifacts and dedication to preserving Tennessee's heritage are reflected in his latest work, Civil War Flags of Kentucky, contributing to the understanding of Civil War history.
