Sue Meller's life was changed by a chance meeting with a homeless man who had just rescued a teeny, tiny puppy. She was inspired to write her first book, "The True Story of Teeny Tiny Tomi: Even Puppies Have Guardian Angels", to help children understand the challenges and lessons of compassion around such a chance encounter. Sue then founded the Teeny Tiny Tomi Fund, which ensures that people coming out of chronic homelessness can enrich their lives with the love, support, and companionship of pets. Sue spent over four decades in management in the hospitality industry. She was the founding director of the Headliners Foundation of Texas, a nonprofit that promotes excellence in journalism. Sue is active in Austin's philanthropic community, having served on numerous boards of directors. She has a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from St. Edward's University, where she is a distinguished alumnus.
