Autor/-in: Susan Wan Dolling

Susan Wan Dolling is a Chinese American writer who was born in Hong Kong, attended the Diocesan Girls' School there, studied in Japan, and graduated from Princeton University with an AB in English and Creative Writing and a PhD in Comparative Literature. She has taught at Fordham University and the University of Texas at Austin. Recently, she has enjoyed introducing her work to members of UT's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She has published 5 volumes of poetry with Earnshaw Books: Superstars, Floating on Clouds and Friends and Lovers in the series, My China in Tang Poetry (2024) and Hundred Tongues and What the Cuckoo Said, in two volumes of Song dynasty poets and their poetry (2025). Stories from Mr. Historian of the Stange (2026) is her sixth book from Earnshaw and will be followed by a memoir called Inch-Tall Grass. As half of the musical duo, "Note After Note," she has performed with her cello teacher, Dr. Chi Hui Kao, to audiences as varied as pre-school children and nursing home residents.
