Author Terence T. Brown, known for his non-fiction offerings on the Vietnam War, in the form of 'TalesFrom The Cut' and 'Clearing Vietnam', as well as the historically enhanced Civil War-era novel, 'Where the Wildflowers Bloom', now brings us a pre-Antebellum period historical novel that takes place within the early American colony of Virginia. He focuses on the African slave trade of the period, as it pertained to a particular tobacco plantation and its occupants, both white and black, along with the new nation's growing federal government. This moving story reveals the various hardships and incidents that unfolded through the daily and yearly management of a picturesque Potomac River plantation farm, known as Redfern.
