Valerie Christman is the author of Doodles and the Backyard Birds. Previously a professional musician, she played the drums throughout her life and was passionate about sports until a serious car accident changed her path. Valerie draws inspiration from Stevie Nicks and has written many songs, a one-act play titled Body & Soul, and a screenplay called Falling Angels. An artist since childhood, she loves to create and share her work. Valerie's engaging storytelling and vibrant illustrations aim to inspire young readers, especially those aged 5 to 8, and anyone who loves doodles and birds.
