Beschreibung
Book Theme. After the Rain Learned My Name is a contemporary poetry collection that examines how childhood experiences continue to echo into adulthood. Rather than telling one continuous story, each poem revisits a person, place, or memory that left a lasting mark. Together, they explore accountability, grief, family, neurodivergence, faith, forgiveness, and the slow work of reclaiming a life that trauma tried to define. Book Description. Some memories arrive loudly. Others quietly settle into the corners of a life and remain there for years. In After the Rain Learned My Name, Jazzlin Boswell revisits the people, moments, and places that shaped her childhood and adulthood, giving each its own voice through poetry. From school hallways and family traditions to grief, forgiveness, and faith, the collection considers how ordinary moments can leave extraordinary marks. Rather than asking readers to dwell in pain, these poems trace the gradual movement toward acceptance, strength, and peace. This is a collection about remembering honestly, loving deeply, and discovering that survival is only the beginning of becoming. Themes. >
