Seine Künstlerbücher sammeln, ordnen und bewahren die Indizien und Ausgangspunkte solcher historischer Varianten, die er in die eigene Biographie projiziert. Oftmals entsteht Bedeutung bei ihm aus dem Zusammenwirken von Bild und Schrift. Seine Bildtitel, häufig Zitate von Celan bis Bachmann, bewegen sich auf der Grenze zwischen Symbolischem und Konkretem, da in den Augen des Künstlers Kunst immer auch mit der Aneignung des Unbegreiflichen sowie der Aufarbeitung jener Residuen zu tun, die aus der Lebenswelt des Einzelnen üblicherweise ausgeblendet sind.
