Beschreibung
What if the dollar's grip on global finance isn't inevitable - but engineered. The dollar's dominance isn't a law of nature. It's a legal, financial, and institutional architecture - built by treaties, banking infrastructure, and reserve conventions. And architectures can be redesigned. In Beyond the Dollar. , attorney and Central Bank of Brazil auditor Robinson Oliveira tackles one of the most consequential questions in global finance: can BRICS build a credible reserve currency capable of challenging U. S. monetary dominance - and what would it actually take, legally and institutionally, to make that real. This isn't speculation or geopolitical hype. It's a rigorous blueprint grounded in treaty law, institutional design, reserve governance, and international monetary law - written by someone who understands both the legal architecture of money and the political limits that constrain it. Inside, you'll get a complete legal framework for a BRICS monetary alternative, including:. A BRICS Monetary Cooperation Treaty. A supranational issuing authority. A specialized monetary tribunal. A reserve allocation system. A hybrid backing mechanism combining commodities, member currencies, and BRICS-denominated bonds. A dual-voting governance structure. A fifteen-year implementation roadmap. Oliveira doesn't shy away from the hard questions either. Beyond the Dollar. confronts the real obstacles head-on: sovereignty conflicts, IMF and WTO compatibility, China's outsized economic weight, trust deficits among BRICS members, reserve credibility, enforcement risk, and the near-certain resistance from Washington and Brussels. The verdict is realistic, not romantic: a full BRICS reserve currency remains unlikely under current political conditions. Partial adoption is the more probable path. But the legal and institutional framework for a serious alternative can be designed today - and this book shows exactly how. Essential reading for. central bank advisers, finance ministries, international lawyers, economists, policymakers, geopolitical analysts, investors, and academics who want to understand de-dollarization as a matter of law and institutional design - not slogans. Beyond the Dollar. doesn't predict the dollar's collapse. It makes the case, backed by law and institutional analysis, that the current monetary order is a choice - not a fact of nature.
