Book of Settlements

A new translation of the medieval Icelandic account of the settlement of Iceland by settlers from Norway and elsewhere in Scandinavia in the ninth and tenth centuries, in the version written by Haukr Erlendsson in the fourteenth century. It is illustrated by the translator's photographs of elements of the landscape referred to in the text.
