The English Lake District and North Lancashire is one of the most beautiful regions of Great Britain. It is also one of less documented areas of the modern bus scene, being sparsely populated, relatively remote and lacking in bus services. Here, Peter Tucker presents a photographic survey of the area since the 1990s. Packed with a wealth of largely unpublished photographs, the book features a wide variety of places including Ambleside, Barrow-in-Furness, Kendal, Keswick, and Windermere - plus Carlisle and the Lancaster and Wyre districts of modern Lancashire. In addition to the wel- known towns of Lakeland, the book features less photographed locations including Brough, Buttermere, Dalton-in-Furness, Greenodd, Kirkstone, Levens Bridge, Portinscale, Troutbeck Bridge, and Warton, plus many more.
